Management
Fulcrum's management team is composed of a mix of industry veterans and
clockless technology experts. The management team is a direct reflection
of the entire staff. We have augmented our founding team of clockless
technology experts (who come primarily from Caltech, USC, and Intel) with
semiconductor industry veterans who bring industry best practices from
companies such as IBM, Vitesse, Intel, Cisco, and AMD.
Bob Nunn - CEO
Bob Nunn joined Fulcrum Microsystems as Chief Executive Officer in April 2001. During his tenure, Bob has successfully led the company from its technology development stage to become a high-growth technology leader of 10GE silicon interconnect solutions for data center and cloud computing markets. Prior to Fulcrum, Bob worked in a variety of engineering and management positions for Monolithic Memories, AMD and Vitesse Semiconductor, as well as a director and advisor to numerous start-ups and venture capital funds. Bob is a graduate of UCLA's School of Engineering and Harvard Business School.
Mike Zeile - President & COO
Mike brings over 20 years of technology marketing and product management experience
to Fulcrum. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Mike co-founded and held the position of VP Business Development
for Encryptix, an internet security infrastructure company. Prior to Encryptix,
Mike has held corporate vice president positions at ACT Networks (acquired
by Clarent), ComCore Semiconductor (acquired by National Semiconductor),
and ADC Telecommunications, where he most recently held the position of General Manager of its
Fibermux division. Mike received a B.A. degree in business, with an emphasis
in computer science, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Uri Cummings - Co-founder & CTO
In January 2000, Uri Cummings co-founded Fulcrum with Andrew Lines and became the company's President
and CEO. Before Fulcrum, Uri and Andrew worked together as undergraduate
and graduate students at Caltech to advance the state of asynchronous
designs. In 2001, Bob Nunn joined Fulcrum as CEO so Uri could focus on
product development. Uri has a BA Degree in English from Wesleyan University,
a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from Caltech, an MS Degree in Electrical
Engineering from Caltech, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Caltech.
Andrew Lines - Co-founder & VP Research and Development
Andrew Lines spent over six years working in the field of delay-insensitive
VLSI technology as an undergraduate, graduate student and PhD candidate
at Caltech. In January 2000, Andrew co-founded Fulcrum with Uri Cummings. Andrew's technical
vision is to enable a new class of standards-based system interconnects that leverage Fulcrum's patented clockless technology foundation to offer leading latency and performance, while consuming less energy than today's interconnect technologies. Andrew leads the company's technical innovation,
ranging from chip and circuit architecture to clockless
tools and methodologies.
Dale Bartos - VP, CFO
Dale joined Fulcrum in July 2007. He has broad financial and operational experience, serving as CFO and COO/CFO of public and private companies. Dale has raised equity capital in a public offering and private offerings. His experience includes the sale of Xylan Corp. to Alcatel in a public transaction, and the sale of privately-held E2O Communications to JDS Uniphase. Immediately prior to joining the Company, Dale was Chief Financial Officer of Nexsan Technologies. Dale has also served as Chief Financial Officer of Mirapoint, Inc., Xylan Corporation, Micropolis Corporation and other high-tech companies. Dale is a certified public accountant.
Alain Gravel - VP, Engineering
Alain brings over 20 years of experience in managing talented product
development teams, and delivering innovative communications systems. Prior
to joining Fulcrum, Alain led the development of several generations of
award-winning integrated voice/data communications products as the VP
of Engineering at ACT Networks (and Clarent after its acquisition of ACT).
Prior to ACT, Alain co-founded and ran engineering for Presticom, a Canadian
company that pioneered products that intelligently and efficiently integrate
voice and data over frame relay networks. Presticom was acquired by ACT
Networks in 1995. Alain received his BSEE and MSEE from Ecole Polytechnique,
University of Montreal.
Dave Markowski - VP, Worldwide Sales
Dave brings a wealth of semiconductor and communications experience not
only in sales, but also in marketing and engineering to the Fulcrum team.
Prior to Fulcrum, Dave was responsible for developing and managing Cisco
Systems' sales efforts targeting the Denver-based RBOC, U S WEST. He became
a part of the Cisco team as a result of Cisco's acquisition of StratumOne
Communications where he served as Vice President, Worldwide Sales. Prior
